Jillian Fisher told ABC News she's fed up with retailers opening earlier and closing later to keep up with Black Friday shopping demand. In a press release from the petition organizer, one employee said human resources has told them, “if you do not come to work on Thanksgiving, you will automatically be fired… I made the request... More than 600 employees have signed a petition asking that the store allow employees to at least put in a request to have the holiday off. It's the latest group of retail workers to push back... Everyone needs a break and time to spend with family. With the ridiculous hours stores are open during the holiday season, employees do not get a chance to spend the time with family. I would like Kmart to show some respect to all of their employees and give us Thanksgiving day off and close early on Christmas Eve.
