Our Daily Bread volunteers choose the weekday that best fits their availability, with an ongoing commitment to volunteer 8AM-Noon on their day each week. Masbia, a network of three food pantries and soup kitchens, serves over two million meals a year to New Yorkers in need. With two locations in Brooklyn and one in Queens, there's a need for... This soup kitchen and food pantry hands out hot meals daily and bundles of groceries weekly. Masbia’s locations in Rego Park and Flatbush can use helping hands for cooking, food prep and meal... Those looking to help out within their community this Thanksgiving — and beyond — might consider their local food kitchen. Here are four Brooklyn kitchens dedicated to serving meals this holiday. All welcome volunteers and donations to help with their efforts year-round. Masbia Soup Kitchen Network – Brooklyn and Queens. Masbia operates soup kitchens in Flatbush and Borough Park, Brooklyn, plus Forest Hills, Queens, and welcomes the help of volunteers 12 and older (children ages 12-14 must be accompanied by an adult) to serve hot meals to all who enter. Boro Park & Flatbush – Masbia Soup Kitchen Network – Masbia will serve kosher turkey dinners at both their Brooklyn locations on Wednesday and Thursday. The non-profit needs volunteers to help unload a large food trailer Tuesday evening at 5402 New Utrecht Avenue at the Masbia Boro Park location. Interested volunteers can join the organization in the kitchen for food prep shifts, decorate holiday tote bags from home, or deliver meals on Thanksgiving with loved ones. The best part is that there are distribution centers in all five boroughs!
