This Thanksgiving season, we’re grateful for our generous partners and the passionate staff at DC Central Kitchen as we prepare to serve more than 69,000 meals this holiday! It’s also far above the goal we set in early 2023, and more than double the meals we distributed for Thanksgiving 2023. If you’re looking to avoid the holiday clean-up, don’t want to spend all day in the kitchen, or crave a Thanksgiving meal with a restaurant refresh, check out these amazing DC restaurants culinary offerings, who will cook—and clean—so you and your family can just enjoy the day. There’s roast turkey with sausage stuffing, mashed potatoes and root vegetables, gravy, and cranberry sauce; blue-hubbard squash soup, and a little gem salad with Riesling/anchovy dressing. Or you can forget the bird and go for Power’s peppered tuna with sushi rice—one of his kitchen’s classics. Hundreds of volunteers come together annually to assist the Edlavitch DCJCC and DC Central Kitchen with preparing Thanksgiving dishes for community members experiencing food insecurity and homelessness. Our devoted staff and volunteers are set to serve more than 25,000 Thanksgiving meals this holiday, up from 14,000 last year. Our kitchen is buzzing as our dedicated team is preparing to send out composed meals to shelters, community centers, and partner organizations later this week.
